How to Trim Windows | This Old House

Kevin O’Connor meets builder Jeff Sweenor and his apprentice and son Ryan in Rhode Island where they’re building a new house. They show Kevin how they are using pine for the exterior trim. The stock, which is farmed and sturdier than typical pine, comes milled in different profiles and pre-primed. Jeff cuts the sill angles first and glues on the return pieces. They cut the legs and top, drill for pocket screws, and assemble the frame on the ground. Finally, they face nail the assemly around the window. Crown molding to the soffit will complete the look and then it’s almost ready for paint. #ThisOldHouse #AskTOH SUBSCRIBE to This Old House: http://bit.ly/SubscribeThisOldHouse About This Old House TV: This Old House is the No. 1 multimedia home enthusiast brand, offering trusted information and expert advice through award-winning television, a highly regarded magazine, and an information-driven website.
