There's no clear answer to that question. There's different ways to stop drinking and different ways work for different people. So, among those different ways, is to go to Alcoholics Anonymous. You start going to Alcoholics Anonymous, you're putting yourself in a situation where you're exposing yourself to people who have been through what you're going through. They've stopped drinking, or they're in the process of stopping drinking. So you get support, you get understanding and you can get a sponsor, which is an individual that you can call each day to check in with and get advice from. Another way is to, on your own, taper off the amount you're drinking. If you're drinking five drinks a day, the next day, drink four drinks, the day after that drink three drinks, a couple days later, drink two drinks until you're not drinking anymore. That's one way to stop drinking. However, that's generally not gonna necessarily be enough for you to remain off of alcohol. So, the best way to stop drinking is with the help and support of someone else or a group of other people. That's the best answer I can give to that question. To go to 12 step meetings like Alcoholics Anonymous or Smart Recovery is another group, or seek a professional who's an addiction specialist who can help you, either in the context of individually help you or with a group of other people who are in the same situation. Get support. That's the best way to stop drinking, with support and help.
