How to Make a Formal Suit from Scratch | HTME: Remix

In a new remixed video, we revisit one of my earliest and most challenging projects to date: attempting to make a formal suit from scratch. For it I travel to Colorado for hemp, Texas for cotton, raise my own silkworms, sheer a sheep and alpaca, spin all the fibers and weave, knit, felt and sew everything into my attempt at a formal suit. This is a new edit of one of our previous older series that was comprised of 11 separate videos. We've combined them all and cut it down to twenty minutes into a format that we feel is easier to follow along with on YouTube. For the most part, it's pretty good, it can tell the difference between different sorts of light. What white balance is, is color determined in degrees Kelvin. The higher the white balance, the warmer the photograph. For example, this photograph here. The white balance was set for an outdoor or natural light, so what we ended up getting, was a very yellow image. Every now and then, you might have found a yellow image on your camera, and thought, "Hey, it didn't look that yellow." Or, conversely, you might have found a blue image. A blue image happens when we're outside, using an indoor white balance setting. On your camera, your white balance settings are generally automatic white balance: sunny, shady, cloudy, uh, tungsten or incandescent, depending on your type of camera, and fluorescent lighting as well. You can also customize your white balance, either from an [inaudible 00:56], or from changing the degrees Kelvin. But let's keep it simple. If your photo is yellow, you need to move it to an indoor white balance, like tungsten, incandescent, or fluorescent lighting. If your photo is extremely blue, you need to move it to an outdoor white balance, like, for example, sunny, shady, or cloudy. This photo indoors with an outdoor white balance, needs to change to an indoor white balance setting, so let's move it over to the tungsten setting on the camera, and we see that the color changes dramatically. Changing our white balance just a little bit can completely alter the feel of a photograph, and get the color correct.

Risk Factors for Alcoholism | Alcoholism

Alcoholism is disease, here’s some resources to help you fight back: Responsible Drinking: A Moderation Management Approach http://amzn.to/1ZdgP9f I Need to Stop Drinking!: How to get back your self-respect. http://amzn.to/1VEqbeU Why You Drink and How to Stop: A Journey to Freedom: http://amzn.to/1Q8pAv2 Alcoholics Anonymous: The Big Book: http://amzn.to/1N0rttl Alcoholics: Dealing With an Alcoholic Family Member, Friend or Someone You Love: http://amzn.to/1j9cvH4 Watch more How to Understand Alcoholism videos: http://ift.tt/2w2jtbC I'm often asked by people, what are the risk factors for alcohol problems and there's many risk factors that could come about for people. One major risk factor is looking at one's family and looking at whether there's been alcohol or other substance abuse problems in the family. There often is a generational or intergenerational issue with alcohol problems. You often see families where their alcohol has run through several generations and you have to look carefully back, if you can, some people don't have that history available to them but even in the present day, you want to look at parents and children to see if there's been a parent who's had an alcohol problem. The children have a higher likelihood to develop an alcohol problem than children of people who don't have any alcohol problems or any alcohol problems in the family. You'll often, if you look at families and extended families, you'll often see families where there's many many people who have some kind of substance abuse disorder, whether that be alcohol or other substances and often, you see in families, you might see an older generation where there's been a lot of alcohol problems and then the next generation, there's been a lot of substance abuse disorder, that's through drugs. And a lot of that can be really determined by a social context and peer context that with parents who were raised in the 30s and 40s and 50s, there wasn't the same level of drugs out there as in the 60s and 70s and 80s so it may just be that they developed, they have the genetic predisposition for substance use disorder but that it ended up getting expressed with different substances. Other risk factors are peer and social contexts. If you're in a social context in which alcohol is not used, if you're in a social context work context where people are don't drink as opposed to a social context where people may drink at lunch, people may drink after work, in the 80s, a stereotype in the 80s was Wall Street, where there was a tremendous amount of cocaine use in Wall Street firms, fueling people's work actually, people working tremendously long hours, people being workaholics actually and needing that boost so it was very common back then for there to be very open cocaine use. Society's changed. That's really not the case anymore. That doesn't mean we see less cocaine problems, but it's just in a different context for it. So again, your social context can be a risk factor. When people have often their alcohol problems may start as teenagers or within college because colleges, there's a high tolerance and a real normalization of heavy drinking so those are a few risk factors to look for if you're concerned about your own alcohol use or someone around you.

How Alcoholism Can Lead to Diabetes | Alcoholism

Alcoholism is disease, here’s some resources to help you fight back: Responsible Drinking: A Moderation Management Approach http://amzn.to/1ZdgP9f I Need to Stop Drinking!: How to get back your self-respect. http://amzn.to/1VEqbeU Why You Drink and How to Stop: A Journey to Freedom: http://amzn.to/1Q8pAv2 Alcoholics Anonymous: The Big Book: http://amzn.to/1N0rttl Alcoholics: Dealing With an Alcoholic Family Member, Friend or Someone You Love: http://amzn.to/1j9cvH4 Watch more How to Understand Alcoholism videos: http://ift.tt/2wJKU6I The question that has been asked of me is if alcoholism can lead to diabetes. And if so, how? The answer is chronic alcohol use can lead to diabetes. The way it leads to diabetes is that chronic alcohol use can cause inflammation of the pancreas, and chronic inflammation of the pancreas can affect the production of insulin in the body. And that's what causes diabetes. So that is why alcohol can be an actual primary determinate of diabetes. The other way that heavy alcohol use can lead to diabetes or exacerbate diabetes is that alcohol has a high content of sugar. So if one is already diabetic, alcohol is really not indicated because of its sugar content. So, again, alcohol can actually be a primary cause of diabetes by chronically inflaming the pancreas, or it can actually make diabetes worse and interfere with the diabetes treatment because of the high sugar content in alcohol.

How to Make a Root Beer Float from Scratch | HTME: Remix

In a new remixed video, we revisit one of my favorite projects of making a root beer float from scratch. In it, I had to forage my own sassafras roots and wintergreen, tap a tree for maple syrup, brew my own root beer, and milk a goat to make the ice cream. - Why are we recutting old content? We made a transition last year to how we produce and edit our episodes to better fit a format that is more YouTube friendly and we want to update our old content to match. Is There a Cheating Personality? | Jealousy & Affairs

Jealousy and Infidelity can ruin any relationship, Learn what you can do: After the Affair: Healing the Pain and Rebuilding Trust: http://amzn.to/1jdFZnV Not "Just Friends": Rebuilding Trust and Recovering Your Sanity: http://amzn.to/1No16QX Transcending Post-infidelity Stress Disorder: http://amzn.to/1No1bEd How to Not Be Jealous: Deal With, Overcome and Stop Jealousy: http://amzn.to/1Q8qaZM Jungle Of Jealousy:How To Deal With Jealously: http://amzn.to/1jOyUu1 Watch more How to Deal with Jealousy & Infidelity videos: http://ift.tt/2hpchjH There is some research that shows that some people may be predisposed to cheating or have what is known as the cheating personality. These are people who are high on sensation seeking or risk-taking. They are addicted to the dopamine rush that comes with cheating behaviors. These are people who are also, for men, high in testosterone, high in drive, and are very likely to take risks. So, if someone likes risky behavior, they're more likely to cheat than those who tend to play it safe. For instance, it's been known that politicians, athletes, and movie stars are predisposed to cheating. Again, these are people that are high on risk-taking and sensation seeking. They're the ones who are willing to risk everything to get in the spotlight and they're also likely to respond to sensation seeking activities. Of course, their are other elements that play into the cheating personality. The family of origin is very important. That is, there seems to be a genetic component to cheating. They found, for instance, that seagulls inherit cheating behaviors. That is, seagulls who tend to unfaithful, as analysed by the DNA samples of their eggs, are more likely to give birth to progeny that is also going to be unfaithful. So there might be some genetic component to cheating as well, and that may be the way the response to dopamine and adrenaline produced by cheating behavior influences our behavior. So, all of this is very complex, and although some people may be predisposed to cheating, of course, again, genetics isn't destiny. I think we're all able to learn to behave the way we want to behave and to maintain committed and stable relationships if we're motivated to.
