It's really important that you give your child the opportunity to sit on the potty with every diaper change in the beginning of potty training. That way he'll get used to it and feel comfortable on it when he is ready to start using the potty. You also want to make sure that you choose the potty that's appropriate for the size of your child so if your child is small you want to use a small training potty. If your child is a little bit bigger then you want to use the potty seat with the step. The more opportunities he has to sit on the potty the more comfortable he'll feel when he's sitting on the potty and when he's ready to use the potty. It's also important that you give your child something to do while he's sitting on the potty like a book or a game or the iPad or a Play-Doh, anything to keep him busy and occupied because the longer he sits on the potty, the more opportunities he'll have to actually go pee in the potty and therefore learn the process of potty training. So that's how you can get your child used to sitting on the potty.

Paint the watered down paint onto the brick with a wide paint brush. Immediately follow behind with a rag to dab off some paint until the desired effect is achieved. Resources: For the fireplace, Mauro watered down a can of Ultra Spec 500 flat white primer, manufactured by Benjamin Moore (http://bit.ly/2fofoq8). He didn’t touch the firebox, but if he did, he would need to use a heat resistant paint. The other materials Mauro used to paint the fireplace, including the buckets, rags, and paint brushes can all be found at home centers and paint stores. How to Repair a Damaged Fireplace Brick

Ask This Old House mason Mark McCullough replaces a chipped brick in a fireplace surround Click here to SUBSCRIBE to the official This Old House YouTube channel: http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=thisoldhouse Time: 2 hours Cost: $20 Skill Level: Moderate Tools List for Repairing Damaged Brick: HEPA vacuum Dust-collecting grinder Hammer Chisel Masonry chisel Masonry brush Mixing bucket Trowel Tuck pointer Concave jointer Shopping List: Plastic drop cloths Canvas drop cloths Painters’ tape Replacement brick Type N mortar Steps: 1. Prep the surrounding work area by hanging plastic drop cloths. Tape them to any door, window, and hallway openings with painters’ tape. 2. Put the canvas drop cloth down immediately underneath the work area. 3. Use the grinder to cut the damaged brick out of the fireplace. Cut just on the inside of the bed joints to ensure the rest of the bricks are not disturbed. This will be really dusty, so use dust collection tools to keep the dust down as much as possible. 4. Chisel out the head joints with a hammer and chisel. 5. Once the mortar has all been loosened, chisel away at the brick using the larger masonry chisel until it’s completely out of the fireplace. Try to break the brick in key areas so that it comes out easier. 6. Dampen a masonry brush and clean out the hole where the old brick was to ensure the new brick will bond. 7. Mix up some Type N mortar in a bucket with some water using the trowel until the mortar is an oatmeal consistency. 8. Scoop out some mortar with the trowel and lay it flat on the hole where the old brick used to be. Smooth it out with the trowel. 9. Fill the head joints or back butter the bricks with mortar. This is the best opportunity to ensure a nice, full joint of mortar. 10. Wiggle the replacement brick into place. 11. For the top head joint, add mortar the same way you would if you were repointing. Take a scoop of mortar and then, using a tuck pointer, push the mortar of the trowel and stuff it as deep in the joint as possible. Repeat this process until the joint is full. 12. Once all the mortar is in place, clean up the joints by dragging a jointer along all the new mortar lines. Pick a jointer that best matches the look of the rest of the fireplace (in this case, a concave jointer). Resources: Working with masonry can be dusty, and the silica dust produced by working with it is hazardous to your health. To minimize the dust, Mark recommends hanging up plastic tarps around the entire work area to confine it to one space, and he also recommends using dust collecting tools. The grinder and HEPA vacuum Mark used on this project are both manufactured by Bosch (http://bit.ly/2dMfbhj). The hand tools Mark used on this project, including the chisel, hammer, trowel, and mixing bucket can be found at home centers. The replacement brick Mark used can be found at local masonry yards. Mark used a Type N mortar to secure the new brick in place, which is manufactured by Quikrete (http://bit.ly/2boMkKO). How to Read the Moon Card | Tarot Cards

Unlock the mysteries of Tarot: The Complete Guide to the Tarot: http://amzn.to/1Pj0Div The Tarot Bible: The Definitive Guide to the Cards: http://amzn.to/1LlxTzz Chakra Wisdom Oracle Cards: http://amzn.to/1hrj3zE The Essential Tarot Kit: Book and Card Set: http://amzn.to/1ZdkUu5 The Rider Tarot Deck Cards: http://amzn.to/1OmCOXQ Watch more How to Read Tarot Cards videos: http://bit.ly/2COYrzv Hello, I'm Ellen Goldberg, and welcome to this Tarot Moment with the School of Oracles. In this segment, we're going to talk about the moon card. This is a night time card and it suggests things about sleep and what happens during sleep. It's also about evolution and we see a roll rising out of a pool on which side there are two figures. One is a dog and one is a wolf. And, we know that the dog has evolved from wolves. Evolved to become our best friend. And so they are symbols of evolution. There's also a kind of lobstery looking crayfish crawling out of the pool. And, that's us actually coming out of the collective unconscious. Coming onto dry land to begin the path of return up to the mountains, which symbolize spiritual attainment. The moon shines down and we see her in profile similar to the hermit. This is card number 18. And, eight and one equal nine and refer back to the hermit. And, we see the face of the moon looking down on us, wanting to be with us in sleep. And, we know that the hermit comes as a wide old man or wise old woman as a teacher. Often during deep and dreamless sleep is often with us. In order to go to this more evolved state, we're going to pass through the towers. We've seen these towers already in the death card before the rising sun. They represent going beyond the boundaries of the known. And, in sleep we often do this. This is the fourth stage of spiritual unfoldment. And, it's called organization. Where we organize the truth that we find in meditation into the very cells of the body. For the sleep time is a very important time of repair, and the dying of old cells, and the building of new cells. Think about times when you have a bad cold, and you go to sleep. And, there's nothing better for healing than letting the body sleep because that's when the repair takes place. With this card also tells us that there's something else about sleep. That the thoughts that we have just before we sleep are some of the most potent we will ever have. And, that the new cells that are born and generated in the body that night are born with those thoughts and beliefs. Use the time just before you sleep for affirming what you want. Do you know that pathiness card has often been called the path of better bodies. And, we build ourselves, we organize our truth into the bodies during this time. When this card appears, in your reading, on a higher polarity, it means that sleep brings counsel and that you are not deceived by the highs and lows of the path. Notice the path is an undulating path, not a straight line. In other words, one day your lows will be where your highs used to be. Keep your eye on the goal. It reminds you when it comes in the higher polarity. Do not be deceived by the highs and lows. Build a better body. Give yourself suggestion. When it's on the lower polarity, this is the path of blood, sweat, and tears in which fear must be overcome. In fact, fear and intimidation by barren and frowning and threatening illusions is a very good meaning for this card. As well as obsession with body. People who over-exercise, over diet, over conscious of body image in any way. That is a lower polarity body aspect of this card. Use the sleep time well because it's a time of psychic development. On the higher polarity, this card can intimate, because it is the moon and it's ruled by Pisce, the most psychic sign of the Zodiac. On the lower polarity, that channel may be blocked. On behalf of the school of oracles, thank you for being with me. Bye for now.

During premarital counseling, a couple can discuss expectations and discuss how those expectations can be met, engage in problem solving with the therapist, and figure out what kind of sexual activities, what kind of romantic activities what sort of intimate communication is important, to make sure that they're sexually satisfied. I think having expectations out on a table, knowing what your partner desires and dislikes are very important in making sure that his or her emotional and sexual needs are met. And remember, it is unmet needs that is the most frequent reason why people cheat. So premarital counseling, and of course even marital counseling, allows for those needs to be brought out in the open, to be discussed in a very safe and neutral environment. And too, for the couple to engage in problem solving, and figure out what kind of ways can they meet each others needs.

When to Stop Rewarding Toilet Use | Potty Training

Potty Training Stinks! It's really important that you continue using rewards until your child is having very infrequent accidents and he's self initiating to the potty. So once you begin potty training, you will use a reward each and every time he pees in the potty. You will also give her the reward immediately every time she goes pee in the potty and you will pair that reward with behavior specific phrase, "Wow, you had peed in the potty." Once your child is consistently going pee in the potty and no longer having accidents or having very infrequent accidents, then you can start slowly fading out the rewards. So in the beginning, your child will receive the reward every single time she has a success. Then once she's having very infrequent accidents, you can start giving her the reward every other time she has a success, and then every third time and they can slowly go away. But it's really important that you don't take the rewards away cold turkey because she may regress, that's way you want to slowly fade out the rewards.
